Comment: We got these shoes as hand-me downs and my kids love them. The only draw back was the rubber bands that came with the shoes were starting to break. After some searching, I was able to find replacement bands, which was very helpful.

Comment: Okay...I have gone back and forth over the last year or so on whether or not to purchase these shoes for my 6 yo son. I bit the bullet when I found them 1/2 off and they were a great purchase for him. He is very athletic, coordinated, strong and he has had a few tumbles while wildly jumping around so I can see where other posters are concerned about kids safety. As with anything like this, there is an inherent risk associated, so we do require my son to where a helmet and wrist guards while using them...you have to use common sense. Getting the elastic straps on the shoes was an honest to goodness struggle - it was a wrestling match and if you are not careful, the elastic bands can snap and hurt you (again, an inherent risk that a rational person could foresee - these are like giant rubber bands - so be careful)...Overall, the shoes were a good buy for my son - he uses them on a regular basis and since we live in the Northeast, these are a blessing in the winter (another great way to let him burn off some energy....which if you have a wild 6 yo boy, you will certainly understand where I am coming from...)so far, the quality has been fine...the shoes have held up and straps have not broken..

Comment: I got my first pair of moon shoes when I was around 8---and I LOVED THEM. My siblings and I played with them for many years. And the plastic IS VERY durable! We still had them up until 5 years ago when we decided to throw them out. The rubber bands are the only thing that doesn't really last, and I wish we would have taken better care of everything rather than leaving them outside to weather. You wear your tennis shoes, and strap yourself in with velcro straps (similar to the training roller skates that toddlers wear)
Imagine my delight when I saw them at the store last week (I'm 22 now) I'm even thinking of picking up a pair for myself! They seem like a good workout :)
One of my fondest memories was the Christmas morning we got them---my grandma, in her 60s, got on them! They do take some getting used to but after a few minutes I was bouncing around without any fear. Though since I am now older I'm almost scared to try them again! Any kid will love these!

Comment: ... if you have two children of different sizes to share the moon shoes, you have to add or subtract sixteen rubber bands, which is time consuming. Also, the dramatic price drop for this product after Christmas is frustrating!!
